Just before his formal retirement, Nelson Mandela established the Nelson Mandela Institute for Education and Rural Development in his home province of South Africa, the Eastern Cape. Working in long term partnerships with rural teachers, parents and children they build solutions that work for rural children. Where once children were not reading, children are now reading and writing for themselves. Where once classrooms were heavy, they are now joyful.
Join us for cocktails, hors d'oevres, and artistic celebration to honour the Mandela Legacy in action. In this special event we will launch Vision 100, bringing humanising primary education to wider scale.
Purchase of tickets and donations are tax deductible.
Proceeds will benefit the Nelson Mandela Institute for Education and Rural Development, building educational solutions that work for rural democratic South Africa.
This event is organised by the Lingham Family Trust in honour of the Educational Legacy of the late President Mandela.
